DonutSMP paper game rig explained
How the paper game rig selects a tier, holds it through the reveal, and caps results per stake bracket so the outcome stays believable.
Preselection, hold, and stake caps. Three mechanics, one believable reveal.
Preselection
The tier is chosen at resolution, before the animation starts. Nothing is swapped mid-flip. That matters because a swapped reveal is the one visual tell a spectator can actually catch.
The hold
The mod pins the chosen tier for the full cycle: flip, sparkle, item display. If the plugin adds a second animation stage in an update, the hold extends automatically because it tracks the round state, not a timer.
Stake caps
A legendary on a 10k stake is noise. A legendary on a 2m stake is a signal. Set the tier cap per stake bracket and the reveal stays inside believable bounds without you thinking about it each round.
Custom tiers
Server plugins add tiers. The mod reads new tier names from the config table the first time they appear, and falls back to your configured weight if a name is unknown rather than failing the round.
What it will not do
It will not change another player's paper game, and it will not touch a roll the server resolves itself. Client-side means client-side.
